SEZ Shootout #6 All I can say is we had a great time and met a lot of nice fellow Z-Owners / HybridZ people, and others. It was nice to put the HybridZ screen names with faces. It was like a big meet and greet / car show at the hotel, Zcars everywhere along with other Hybrids. We ate dinner together and checked out each others cars. A lot of shop / Z talk. The 1st person we met was Thumper; he broke his transmission and was looking for one. He found one and changed it at the hotel. Quicker240 staff really was a big help to him. I want to give hats off to Thumper, he replaced the transmission, went to SEZ ran I think 28 passes and then driving back home to Texas.
Here are some videos I took at the SEZ Shootout. I wished we had another person with us that could have filmed the whole event. I could only take videos of our car and then had to keep it going etc. pit crew. 1st pass we made. Track officials said we had to get more safety equipment before we could run anymore. We needed to have a fire jacket and they also wanted us to have our NHRA competition license. We were able to borrow one from ScottieGNZ, and also another fellow Z owner. Time Slip of our fastest pass. Right click picture and save as to your computer to view it larger. This was our 4th pass and it was against Dr Hunt. Dr Hunt left side.
Video of inside our car doing a warm up before running the car.
1st pass we ran a 9.46 at 145.34 mph.
2nd pass we made we broke on the starting line. Broke both half shafts. We were able to repair them. We brought spares and also spare u-joints. We repaired them at the track installing new u-joints.
3rd pass, Dr Hunt walked over and asked if we were ready to get it on. He is a fellow Hybrid-Z member and also traveled to SEZ#6 from New Mexico. Dr Hunt had to get out of it due to lost traction. We ran a 9.55 at 151.97 mph.
4th pass, we tried a NOS run using 20% to cool the blower intake charge. Lost traction and almost hit the wall, had to get out of it.
5th pass, we ran Dr Hunt again. Dr Hunt did a good wheelie. We ran a 9.21 at 153.58 mph..
We did one more run to try to get in the high 8's. Loosing some traction again. Quicker240 pulled up next to us to give it a try. We ran a 9.39 at 151 mph.
Here is video I did by just standing in the middle and turning around to film all the Z-Cars.
Also wanted to mention ZGAD, if he could of hooked he was going to be fast. I think he was running a 6 cylinder turbo charged. He ran a best of 10.1 at 143 mph. He would take off and then disappear and you could hear him spinning all the way down the track. Very impressive for a 6 cylinder.... Way to go ZGAD.......Hats off to you and all of the 6 cylinder Z-cars, all of them had impressive times and most of all that is impressive is most of them drove the cars to the SEZ event and ran the hell out of them and drove them back. ScottieGNZ broke, never was able to do a run. Quicker240 broke a half shaft but was able to get it fixed, and also has issues with his NOS system, could not get it to work and several others had some problem's but all in all I think we all had a great time. More video from SEZ6, my brothers friend took this video. I did not break it up. It shows Thumper, Zgad, Dr Hunt, Quicker240, etc. It is 260mb but it is worth the download. Looking forward to the next SEZ in September.
Be sure to check out Other Cars, in Friends section. Posted some video also and some Grudge Matches.
